Why this stack, not the other one
Three principles guided the picks:
- Specialist > generalist. Best email tool, best voice tool, best attribution tool. Avoid 'all-in-one' platforms that do everything mediocrely.
- Native first. Shopify-native apps (Klaviyo, Callsy, Loox) over third-party glue that breaks at scale.
- Don't double-pay for the same channel. Pick one email/SMS tool, not two.
What to install in what order
If you're starting from zero, install in this order to maximize early ROI:
- Week 1. Klaviyo (email + SMS abandoned cart flows)
- Week 2. Callsy (voice + WhatsApp as the first touch in your flow)
- Week 4. Reviews tool (Loox/Yotpo) for social proof in recovery emails
- Week 6. Triple Whale for clean attribution across all channels
- Week 8. Skip the rest until something specific is broken
What to skip in 2026
Three categories of recovery tooling we don't recommend in 2026:
- Generic chatbots without voice. Text-only support tools rarely move recovery metrics
- Browser push (for most categories). 1–3% recovery, high opt-in friction, low signal
- Standalone exit-intent popups. Convert short-term but tank brand and email quality long-term
