For UK + EU barbershops

Keep cutting. We'll get the phone.

An AI receptionist that answers in your shop's name, reads the diary you already keep, books the slot and texts the confirmation. Your client downloads nothing. You put the clippers down for nothing.

The pain

UK hair and beauty businesses are trading at a loss. A chair hour that rings out is the one you can never sell twice.

Source: NHBF State of the Sector, March 2026

What it looks like from behind the chair.

The phone goes while your hands are in someone's hair. That is the whole problem, and on a Saturday it happens a dozen times. Here is what happens instead.

  1. The phone rings. You are mid-fade. In most shops this is the moment the booking dies.
  2. Callsy picks up. First ring, in your shop's name, while the clippers keep going.
  3. It reads the real diary. Not a message for you to return later. The slot that is genuinely free, offered and held.
  4. The client gets a text. Saturday 10:30, confirmed, with a reminder the day before and a refill if they drop out.

What changes when somebody always picks up.

£26,400

What a person on the phone costs

The National Living Wage is £12.71 an hour. Forty hours a week of somebody on reception is £26,400 a year before employer NI and pension. Callsy covers every one of those hours for about a month of them.

3.16%

No-shows, measured rather than guessed

That is Fresha's figure from three million real hair bookings in 2024. Owners asked to estimate put their losses near 7% of monthly revenue. Callsy confirms the day before and offers the slot on to somebody else when it falls through.

0%

Commission on a client who rings you

Booksy Boost takes 30% of a new client's first visit. Treatwell takes 35% plus VAT. Both are optional, both only bite on new marketplace clients, and neither applies to the man who finds your number on Google and gets answered.

What your week looks like.

Before
Saturday. Three chairs full, phone ringing out.
  • The phone goes mid-fade. You let it ring, because the man in the chair is the one paying
  • Almost nobody leaves a voicemail. They ring the shop two doors down instead
  • Calls land after you lock up, and go to whoever answers
  • A 4pm no-show is forty minutes of chair time you cannot sell again
After Callsy
Every ring answered, in your shop's name.
  • Answers on the first ring, offers the two slots that are actually free, holds one
  • Texts the confirmation, reminds the day before, offers the slot on when somebody cancels
  • Handles the walk-in question straight: how long the wait is, who is on, what a skin fade costs
  • Rings you instead of guessing when it hits something that isn't in the book

“I'm not putting the clippers down to answer a phone. That is the whole problem, and every barber I know has it.”

Questions buyers in barbering actually ask.

Anything missing? hello@callsy.ai.

Does it actually work with Booksy, Fresha or Treatwell?

Yes, two ways. Where the platform publishes an API we connect to it directly and read live availability. Where it doesn't, we build the connection as a custom workflow over MCP, which is how we run bookings for clients on systems that were never meant to be integrated. Either way the AI sees real availability before it offers a time, so it never books a chair that is already taken. Tell us what you run on the setup call and we'll say which of the two you get.

What happens when somebody just wants to walk in?

It tells them the truth. Roughly how long the wait is, which barbers are on today, and what the cut they're asking about costs. Most walk-in calls are really wait-time calls, and a straight answer keeps the person coming rather than ringing round. If the shop is heaving it offers a booked slot later the same day instead.

Will my clients know they're talking to a machine?

Yes. It says it's an AI assistant on every call, before anything else happens. That is the EU AI Act position and it's also just better: people are fine with it once they're told, and they are not fine with finding out halfway through. If a caller asks for a person, it takes the message and rings you.

What does it do about no-shows and late cancellations?

Three things. It texts a confirmation when the booking is made, reminds the day before with a one-tap way to change or cancel, and when a slot does fall through it offers that slot to the next person who wanted that day. Fresha's own analysis of three million bookings put the measured no-show rate for hair at 3.16% in 2024, which sounds small until you price forty minutes of a Saturday chair.

Do I have to change the number on the shop front?

No. Keep your number and forward it, or forward only the calls you miss and the ones that come in after you lock up. We can also give you a second local number for Google and Instagram so you can see which bookings came from where. Nothing on your signage has to change.

I'm a one-chair shop. Is this overkill?

Probably, at £200 a month, unless you are turning away a lot of calls. The maths works from about two chairs upward, or for a single barber who is fully booked and losing the overflow. Say so on the call and we will tell you honestly if you are better off on self-serve at €49 a month instead.

Never miss a booking. That is the whole pitch.

Book a 15-minute setup call. We'll put your shop's name and your real diary on the line and let you listen to it fill a Saturday.

Built by founders, not a committee.

We're Arunas and Laimonas. We started Callsy because every D2C founder we talked to was losing revenue at checkout, and email recovery had plateaued. Voice was the obvious answer. AI finally made the unit economics work. If you're in the same spot, let's talk.
